10 Favourite Things to Do in Goa: Beaches, Hidden Gems, Food & More
Goa, a coastal
state of India, is famous for its beaches, beautiful scenery, and hidden
waterfalls. It has its own unique experience. I have enjoyed countless moments
on the beaches and hidden gems in Goa.
Here is a list of
my favourite things to do in Goa:
1. BEACHSIDE
SHACKS IN GOA
The shacks of Goa
are inviting, offering a blend of beverages and mouth-watering food items. I
have discovered some of the famous local items that tasted so good.
(WORTH THE HYPE)
— This one is on Patnem Beach.
Unlike the other
common shacks, this was one of the best I have ever seen.
This one boasts
lush greenery and tables set between them.
2. BEACH GYM IN
GOA
If you are
health-conscious and were avoiding Goa because you thought it is only about
beverages and unhealthy food, you were wrong. The beaches take great care of
visitors.
I was shocked to
see a GYM at Ashvem Beach in North Goa that completely blew my mind. The
wooden equipment blends into the beach's natural ambience, creating a
breathtaking and unforgettable gym experience.
3. PARAGLIDING
IN GOA
Arambol Beach in
North Goa offers a unique paragliding experience with breathtaking views of the
beach. Gliders take off from a cliff top near the beach and peacefully land on
the shore of Arambol Beach.
4. SPA AT
ARAMBOL BEACH
Arambol Lake is the
only freshwater lake connected to the Arabian Sea, situated at the bottom of a
hill. Arambol Beach offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to swim in
the sea and take a refreshing dip in the lake's sweet water.
5. LOCAL FISH
AND SPICE MARKET
The Goan fish and
spice markets offer a variety of experiences from the daily life of Goan
people. Every day, these markets offer a variety of fresh fish and spices.
6. SPICE GARDEN
Goa has a variety
of spice gardens, which are not quite noticeable to visitors. Some spices were
introduced to India by the Portuguese. It's an experience to explore the
diverse range of spices available in one place.
7. AUTHENTIC
GOAN CUISINE
Goan dishes, such
as Goan fish curry, chicken xacuti, bebinca, seradura, and ros omelette, are
must-try items as they have their own unique flavours.
8. PARTIES IN
GOA
Goa offers a
variety of party options, from beach parties to clubs, casinos, cruises,
private parties, and music festivals.
9. MY FAVOURITE
BEACH
During every visit
to Goa, one beach that I have never missed is Cabo de Rama Beach.
This beach gives me
goosebumps every time I visit there. It has mesmerizing views from the top,
with big coconut trees that give you the feel of Bali.
10. BEST TIME TO
VISIT GOA
The pleasant
seasons are winter (October to February) and the lush green season (June to
September).
Summers (March to
May) are extremely humid, with water activities and shacks closed during the
monsoons
.
11. WHERE TO
STAY
There are many
options to stay: hostels, budget-friendly hotels, and, of course, many options
for luxury stays, so one can choose accordingly.
CONCLUSION
So, whenever you
visit Goa, it doesn't matter which season you are travelling in, one place you
cannot miss is South Goa.
It feels like you
are away from all the rush and crowds of Goa. It keeps you away from all the
chaos and gives you decent vibes of Indonesia and Bali, with its mesmerizing
views.
